Does your script open with a hook? Is the layout of your first ten script pages up to industry standards? Is your story premise clearly defined? Do your scenes logically connect? Do your characters lack depth? Does the overall dialogue lack excitement or captivate the reader? Do your scene descriptions leave readers puzzled or fail to evoke vivid imagery?

New to Our Services?

Our standards are of a much higher caliber than those of other services in the market. So, don't expect us to go easy on you. If your script's first ten pages are poorly written, we won’t pretend to like them and let you keep making the same writing mistakes in your next script. The first ten pages of your film/TV script must be properly formatted -- and not written like a stage play or novel.

This first 10 pages script analysis service is for film and TV scripts only -- not manuscripts or story treatments. If you are seeking the truth (the good and the bad news) about your writing skills, and you don't have a fragile ego, this service is ideal for you. We will provide an unvarnished critique of the first 10 pages of your script.

You will get straightforward feedback just like in the industry — there's no coddling here. In other words, if you are a new screenwriter, our feedback on the first 10 pages of your script won’t be sugar coated, we won’t treat you like a baby. We will not be lowering our standards for anyone.

Even if you come from a family of acclaimed novel writers, it doesn’t mean you'll inherit their talent like a family heirloom -- especially since screenwriting differs from writing novels. It's important to adopt a realistic mindset. There's no room to be lazy because the competition is fierce.

We have years of experience analyzing full scripts for repped screenwriters and producers, including award-winning director-writers, so we can easily identify weaknesses in your first ten pages. If your script pages have weak dialogue -- or some of your scenes are not properly formatted to industry standards, we will tell you like it is. We won't hold back.

What New Screenwriters Must Know About the Industry

If you’ve been using other screenplay services and your writing skills aren’t improving, there could be two reasons. One reason is that you’ve been getting script feedback from people who don’t have high standards or overlook the flaws in your script. The second reason might be that you neglect or fail to heed the advice or notes provided by the script readers or script consultants.

If you don’t put in enough time to do as many rewrites as possible, and you fail to effectively apply what you’ve learned from the script coverage or notes, your writing and storytelling skills won't improve dramatically.

You gotta have patience, self-discipline, and self-motivation. It's all about how well you're able to apply what you've learned and how much effort your willing to put in. If you find yourself ready to quit after 10 rewrites, just remember that there are first-time screenwriters who have the patience and tenacity to do more than that -– and those are our clients who have successfully landed book and movie deals.

Screenwriters who have not yet mastered the basics of screenplay formatting and the art of storytelling are not sought after by literary agents and producers. If you treat screenwriting like a hobby, rather than a serious profession, you won't be able to keep up with the accomplished screenwriters in the industry.

Established producers and other industry professionals such as literary agents and literary managers only want to work with the most talented screenwriters. Their focus is not on catering to inexperienced screenwriters that they have to train, as their responsibility does not involve coaching -- or instructing writers in the art of screenwriting.

The agents’ standards as literary agents will be negatively impacted if they represent a screenwriter who lacks the ability to tell their stories in proper screenplay format. Moreover, your script must adhere to industry standards if you expect producers to pay six figures for it. And movie investors don’t want to invest in film/TV projects written by screenwriters who don't know how to effectively write for the screen. So, if you're new to screenwriting, learn to break out of your comfort zone, grow thick skin, and listen to critical feedback to improve your screenwriting skills -- if you want to go head-to-head with more established screenwriters.

Screenwriting is not everyone, as movie producers and literary agents will not be coddling you — even if you’re a new screenwriter. In the film/TV business, you need to have thick skin to keep up with the competition and work with producers and other industry professionals.

The price for this service is solely for analyzing the first 10 pages of your script and giving 1 to 1.5 pages of feedback on them. This is NOT a screenwriting course. This service excludes extra services like answering follow-up questions about the first ten script pages or elaborating on our feedback, as these tasks are considered extra work that takes up extra time, which is not factored in the price listed.

If you want extra services added on, there will be extra charges, which we can email you a price quote first. Once you agree to proceed with the add-on services, we will email you an e-invoice. Additional services have turnaround times as well.

Script Notes
