   SCRIPT FORMATTING SERVICE

Film/TV Script Formatting Service @ $2.30 Per Page | 1 Round
$
2.30

We offer professional film and TV script formatting services tailored for serious screenwriters and filmmakers. Our one-time script formatting service is designed to enhance the layout of your script. If you're unsure about properly formatting scene headings or other key elements, our expert team can help. We have successfully formatted feature film and TV series scripts for clients whose work has been picked up by award-winning directors and producers. Some of the producers' work include TV series and feature films for Lionsgate, Netflix, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and many more.

If your screenplay is not formatted to industry standards, and you show it to producers, they will not take you seriously. With over a decade of industry experience, we specialize in formatting film and TV scripts for screenwriters, including both represented writers and novelists crossing over to screenwriting.

Our script formatting service entails our script formatter reading your script page by page to check for formatting errors you may have overlooked during your writing process. We will reformat (revise) flashbacks and phone conversation scenes if they are not written in proper industry script format.

Est. Turnaround Time: 6-7 business days for a script that is 120 pages or less. Scripts that exceed 120 pages can take longer than 7 business days.

Minimum Page Count

The minimum page count requirement to use this service is 20 pages. If your screenplay is less than 20 pages, email your script as the file type of the screenwriting software you use to [email protected] to get a price quote with turnaround time.

Note: Please be aware that if you did not properly format your script, such as single-spacing certain elements when they should be double-spaced, and we correct these formatting issues, the page count of your script may increase. Therefore, please don't expect the final page count to remain the same after the formatting is completed. Additionally, if scene headings are missing and we need to add them, this will also result in an increase in the page count.

Additionally, please note that correcting formatting errors in a script is a different service from story rewriting (script doctoring), script consulting, or proofreading. Our Script Formatting service does NOT include answering follow-up questions about your story (aka script consulting service) or providing guidance on using third-party screenwriting software.

If you are new to screenwriting and need assistance with specific features in your software, it is your responsibility to reach out to your software provider for tech support. We are not software instructors for 3rd party software companies. Our services do not extend to addressing technical questions about your screenwriting software, troubleshooting your computer, or providing email-based tutoring on any software usage.

The price for formatting service only covers the time for us to read your script to check for formatting errors and correcting formatting errors where we deem applicable. If you want your follow-up questions about your script answered, you would need to purchase our script consulting service along with this script formatting service -- which we can easily bundle into one e-invoice for you to pay online.

When you purchase our script formatting service, you're paying for a complete review of every line in your script to identify and correct any formatting errors. Therefore, the longer your script, the higher the cost for formatting services, as it requires more pages to review and correct for formatting errors.

This script formatting service should not be confused with "proofreading," "editing," or "script consulting" service. Also, if you want us to proofread your script for typos, word omissions, and grammar errors, we do offer Script Proofreading service -- which is priced per word, and it has its own turnaround time because proofreading consumes extra time, and it has to be done by our script proofreader, not our script formatter.

This is purely a Script Formatting service -- it doe NOT include other services like analyzing the story, or giving any script/story feedback as that falls under script consulting service -- which is a separate service that takes up extra time. If you did not purchase our proofreading service, you will need to proofread the formatted script and make any necessary revisions before sending it out to anyone.

An additional charge may apply if we notice the script contains a heavy amount of formatting errors, which requires more time and work to tidy it up. In that scenario, we will let you know the extra cost. Once you agree to the additional cost, we will email you a payment link to submit your payment. Scripts that have excessive formatting errors or exceed 120 pages may take more than 7 business days.

If you are new to our script formatting service, please be aware that it does not include tasks beyond formatting the script itself. This means we do not provide services such as researching the history of your story, reviewing suggested online articles for references, watching recommended movies, or any other activities that require additional time. Any tasks deemed outside the scope of script formatting will not be covered. For example, if your script is based on a true story, we will not spend extra time on unpaid tasks, such as reading news articles related to the story, in order to format the script. This is not a story analysis or script analysis service.

To recap, our script formatting service does NOT include story rewriting, script doctoring, providing script feedback, proofreading, or responding to follow-up questions regarding the script. Additionally, the script formatting service does not include answering inquiries about specific scenes or lines in the script, nor does it involve any question-and-answer sessions, as this is a script formatting service, not a screenwriting course or script consulting service

When you opt for our script formatting service, you are essentially paying for the time it takes to have your script read, checked for formatting errors, and the service of having your formatting errors corrected.

If you would like us to provide additional services beyond script formatting, such as script feedback or answering follow-up questions about your script, you will need to purchase our script consulting service. Addressing follow-up inquiries is an added task that demands more time and entails a service fee.

You can purchase follow-up questions in increments of 1 question, 2 questions, 3 questions, etc. We can give you a price quote for that -- just let us know. And once you agree with the pricing for the follow-up question-and-answer service, we will bundle it into a single e-invoice for easy online payment.

When you pay for the formatting service, you’re only paying for the time to read the script to check for formatting errors and correcting formatting errors. We only allocate a certain amount of time for each script formatting project. Therefore, this formatting service does not involve performing other distinct services like proofreading or one-on-one script consulting.

If you choose not to buy our proofreading service, you’ll need to proofread the formatted script yourself and fix any typos or word omissions before sending it out to any third parties like producers and directors. The pricing for the proofreading service is based on the number of words, and the turnaround time depends on the total word count.

This script formatting service is only for scripts that have been typed using a professional screenwriting software -- not scripts typed using Microsoft Word. If you typed your script using MS Word, email your script as an MS Word or Rich Text File (RTF) to [email protected] to get a price quote on how much it would cost for us to reformat your entire script. Among other things, scripts that are typed using MS Word or Google Docs don't paginate properly, so they would need script formatting service.

If your script is not formatted to industry standard, and you pitch it to a producer, it will make a statement about who you are as a screenwriter.

Producers will think that you are inexperienced if they see that your script is not properly formatted. The condition of your script is a reflection of your talent and standards. Many new screenwriters often ask us how to get a literary agent, but only some are willing to put in the effort to make their scripts look professional and presentable.

Screenwriting software doesn’t have artificial intelligence to interpret and understand the scenes in your script. For instance, if your flashback scenes are formatted incorrectly or confusingly, the software won’t flag the error. That’s where our script formatting service comes in. Our formatter will review your script line by line, identify any formatting issues, and correct them as needed.

We will also check the font style, font size, line spacing between elements, and format words in capital letters where needed. Similarly, if you formatted a certain word in your script in lowercase when it should be in uppercase, we will correct that formatting error for you.

Script formatting service is not the same as script polishing, story rewriting, proofreading, or copyediting.

Correcting formatting errors is also known as script reformatting. For example, if your scene heading has incorrect left and right margins -- or it is not written in the proper format or sequence, it means you did not format (write) your scene headings according to the industry format of how a film or TV scene heading should be in a script.

When you, the screenwriter, incorrectly format a scene heading, it could mean you've written it in the wrong order, included incorrect details, or omitted crucial information.

Our script formatter will use discretion when doing the formatting check to determine what can be corrected and what is outside the scope of the script formatting service.

For example, our script formatter will NOT be proofreading the script or correcting grammar errors, as formatting and proofreading are two separate services. It is NOT part of a proofreader's role to check a script for formatting errors, and it is also NOT a script formatter's role to check a script for grammar or typo errors. Those are two entirely different line of work

A proofreader and a script formatter handle different aspects of your script. When submitting your script for formatting service, please note that our script formatters focus exclusively on fixing formatting errors. Please note, it is not part of their role to proofread or correct grammar in the script. Their focus is solely on fixing formatting issues. That's all they do. It is not part of their role to proofread or correct grammar in the script. Additionally, they are not screenwriting instructors, so they are not required to provide explanations on specific formatting choices. This is not a screenwriting course or a script consulting service.

Script formatters are solely focused on correcting formatting issues. They may revise a scene heading to make it conform to script format standards, but they will not be performing out-of-scope services like proofreading and correcting typos. In addition, they are not screenwriting instructors and are not required to explain why a scene is formatted in a particular way. Our script formatters follow established industry standards for script formatting that have been in place for over a decade in the movie and TV industry.

Our script formatter will use discretion when doing the formatting check to determine what can be corrected, and what is outside the scope of script formatting service. For instance, the script formatter will NOT be proofreading the script or correcting grammar errors because proofreading a script is not the same as formatting a script. After you get the formatted script back from us, you will need to proofread it, or purchase our Script Proofreading service.

Our script formatting service excludes doing out-of-scope work such as researching the history of your story, reading any online articles you suggest for references, watching movies you suggest, or anything that we deem is outside the scope of the script formatting service. Script formatting involves reading the script and correcting formatting errors. If some of your scenes are unclear or ambiguous, we will ask you to clarify them.

MORE ABOUT OUR SCRIPT FORMATTING SERVICE

Script formatting service also involves us revising your scene heading, where we deem necessary, to make sure it matches with the circumstances in the scene. As an example, if you indicate it's a day scene in your scene heading but then say it's nighttime in your scene description, then we will correct the "time of day" discrepancy for that scene.

Our script formatter will check each scene heading, scene description, dialogue section, parenthetical, use of V.O. vs. O.S., character name, use of text over a scene, use of subtitling, margins, and line spacings between elements such as scene headings and dialogue.

Script formatting service does NOT include commenting on the script (script feedback service), proofreading, rewriting sentences that the screenwriter wrote in novelistic style, or fixing grammar errors.

SCRIPTS TYPED USING MICROSOFT WORD
  • Email your scripts to us at [email protected]  for Pricing and Estimated Turnaround Time.
  • Scripts that are typed using MS Word s tend to have a higher rate of incorrect margins and page breaks.
  • Our script formatting service does NOT include proofreading service, which is priced per word.
  • After using our script formatting service, if you want to make updates (minor or major) to your formatted script such as adding more dialogue, replacing word(s), deleting word(s), or correcting your own typos in the formatted script, you would need to resubmit your formatted script for a 2nd round of script formatting service -- which is an extra cost as it requires extra time.
  • Script formatting service does not include script proofreading service, which has to be done by a script proofreader, not a script formatter. It is strongly recommended that you get proofreading service before you send your scripts out to producers, agents, screenwriting contests, etc.
  • We only accept a limited number of projects for formatting Microsoft Word scripts. It takes up additional time for us to convert formatted scripts into PDF files since Microsoft Word is not a suitable file type -- it does not conform to screenplay format.
  • Due to our commitment to larger rush projects, our availability to work on smaller scale projects like converting a Word doc script into a formatted PDF script  is limited.

Proofreading Service and Answering Follow-up Questions are Add-On Services that can be Purchased as a Bundled Package or Individually.

If you'd like to add proofreading services or any extra services, let us know, and we'll provide you with a price quote and estimated turnaround time. We can conveniently combine both services (formatting and proofreading) into a single e-invoice and send you a personalized payment link via email for easy purchase.
