This service offers one full round of rewriting and one round of editing, focusing on improving your screenplay’s plot, pacing, characters, and thematic depth.

Please note: This service is intended exclusively for film and television scripts that are properly formatted to industry standards. It is designed for professional screenwriters, particularly those represented by literary agents or managers.

We do not accept:

  • Scripts written in novel or prose style that "tell" rather than "show."
  • Scripts with formatting errors or those not written in standard screenplay format.
  • Projects by writers new to screenwriting who have not yet mastered the format or the fundamental differences between screenwriting and novel writing.

Important: We do not provide format correction or convert novel-style writing into screenplay format as part of this service. If your script is not already in proper screenplay format, we recommend addressing that before using this rewriting service. All of our custom work services such as script rewriting service is non-refundable.


Please note that this service does not include post-rewriting Q&A session such as us answering your follow-up questions or explaining our creative decisions, such as why we rewrite or trim certain scenes, provide feedback on your third act, or offer insights into a specific character -- which is considered Script Consulting service, which is a different and separate service that requires additional work and additional pay.

Therefore, you have follow-up questions—such as requests for explanations of rewritten scenes, our rationale behind certain changes, or clarification of specific elements in the script—you will need to purchase our Script Consulting Service as an add-on.

The rewriting service focuses solely on revising the script.

If your script is not in the correct film or TV format or is still a rough draft, we suggest you first purchase our Script Doctor Initial Film/TV Script Assessment service. This way, we can thoroughly review it and provide you with pricing details for our extensive script rewriting and script formatting services. And if the script also needs Script Formatting service, we can bundle both services onto one single invoice for you, and also give you a discount if you order both services together.

How much rewriting a script needs will depend on its current condition and the complexity of the story. Therefore, several rounds of rewriting may be necessary to sharpen your story and flesh out your characters.

Please note that this rewriting service does NOT include proofreading service (which is an additional service) or reviewing third-party script coverage. If you would like us to review third-party script coverage or notes on your script, you can request this as an add-on service. Simply send us the coverage via email, and we will provide a price quote. Reviewing third-party feedback requires extra time and effort, so it is considered an additional service, and it will also increase the turnaround time. Pricing will depend on the total word count of the script coverage and notes.

The number of rounds needed to rewrite your script will vary based on the complexity of your story, the number of characters, the page count, and the condition of your script. Patience and multiple rounds of rewriting are essential in the process of screenwriting to achieve a polished outcome.
